When we say modernized, we are talking about the built in technology, not the design. That is ok as it is. Clearly staying true to it's original 1960's design cues, the Brionvega RR226 keeps the record player but adds a CD and DVD player. Design wise, we have always loved what Brionvega has done with products like the cuboglass and "> alpha tv, but these have always fallen short on the technology side. Known as the 'musical component robot', we can definitely see the face of a robot in the RR226 with the layout and placement of the dials and displays, while the component aspect comes from the configurable and detachable speakers.
You can almost consider this the original home theater in a box. This newest incarnation of this design would look just as good underneath a wall mounted TV as it would standing alone in your living room. It is not yet available in stores, but we sure would like to get our hands on this one.
