The New York Times gives us a tour of the Marengo family's new prebab home in New York City. In the Bronx on the foundation of their old home, Regina and Bill Marengo have doubled there living space to 1,800 square feet and made the most of their view of Long Island Sound...

We're in love with the wide steps leading down to the water! The Marengo's prefab units are from Simplex Homes and the couple hired Joseph Tanney of Resolution: 4 Architecture — the same firm who won the first Dwell Home Competition.

Check out Mrs. Marengo's unique story of building her house from Fallujah, Irag (she is an civil engineer and part of the 30th Naval Construction Regiment, a reserve unit): Ordering Out for More Space.
