I came across this stunning image while doing some design work, and was captivated by the idea of using these colors in the bedroom.
Brown can be difficult to pull off in any space, especially in the bedroom. If done incorrectly, the color can make a room feel small and heavy, while today's trends lean toward treating the bedroom as a spa-like retreat. The trick to using brown well is to place light and bright objects nearby. Colors like turquoise, yellow, and cream really pop in contrast.

Beautiful shots. I love the mermaid floor lamp!
I did a color/colour consult in December and selected brown for the bedroom! Brown with a soft silver/blue.
Do a google search for images with Benji Moore's Iron Mountain to see how amazing this colour is!
Does anyone have any good brown paint suggestions?
Love it! I used Sherwin Williams "Down Home" in an eggshell finish.

I had a dark brown bedroom for 3 years and just changed it about a week ago. It was a great color (BM Woodcliff Lake), but just got too dark & claustrophobic despite the white linens, curtains, & lamps. I lightened it up (to BM Edgecomb Gray) and it's made a world of difference. I'll take a light & airy room any day!
I painted my bedroom BM's Sweet Georgia Brown and I love it. White ceiling, trim, curtains and bedding really looks crisp.
Exact color of my bedroom! Love it!
Amendment: the first picture is the same as mine. Try Martha Stewart "Goosedown" . . . beautiful cocoa-grey. Also, Dunn Edwards I think has a color called "Cocoa" that is very similar.
Amazing pictures. I love the chandelier in the last picture. Where can I find this one or a similar version?
I must have been ahead of my time! I was allowed to pick the colors for my newly built bedroom waaayyyy back when I was 12 or13. I picked Spanish Brown for the walls which was a very dark brown and a light beige for the ceiling. Being a kid, I wanted the room to match my favorite stuffed animal (beige bulldog). I'm still in the same warm color family as my current bedroom is Glidden's Victorian Red. No stuffed animals now, but the red sets of my black cat, my white cat and my Siamese cat very nicely!
I painted my bedroom BM's Pine Cone Brown. After having white walls for 12 yrs. it was quite a change, but I love it paired with my white furniture/accessories.
I loved my tiny brown room back in 1969, after the summer of Woodstock. By spring I was ready for a change so went with early spring green. A year later I returned to off white. I kinda miss the brown but it did get too dark after a while.
That last photo is so glamorous - I love it! I've been trying to figure out a color scheme for my bedroom which is east facing and always seems rather cold feeling. It's a small room, and I think brown could work - making it feel like a comfortable cacoon.
I'm partial to this brown bedroom...

Pratt & Lambert's "Loam," 2015.
A friend of mine painted the entire ceiling in her west-facing loft condo a chocolaty brown and it looks warm and cozy.
I'm thinking of doing this in my new bedroom too, though it's a VERY small room. Thanks for the inspiration!
I have to agree with bunny36, I had a chocolate brown room for 2 years and it did really make my very large room feel smaller, even though I loved the colour. We moved - now I have dark colours in the living room, but pale gray in the bedroom.
does anyone have thoughts on how dark brown feels in a small room? I have a perhaps-irrational belief that it will make a small room appear bigger... maybe the walls will seem to recede? I'm trying to find inspiration pics, but it's hard to judge the size of rooms.
I love my brown bedroom! Boomerang latex in "Shore" (if you go to the website, just know that it dries way darker than the colour swatch - way WAY darker), with Boomerang "Cotton" as trim.
The colour is so soothing and relaxing. And I don't think it makes the room look small at all, but then again my bedroom is quite open, with lots of windows along one wall, and glass-panelled doors along another.
bunnie thanks for the edgecomb gray suggestion... we're looking for a warm gray for our bedroom and that one looks perfect.

I have a milk chocolate brown in my small bedroom and I have been living it with for 2.5 years. I feel the need to repaint because it is just too dark. We have pretty inadequate light in the room in the daytime so I feel like I am in a cave, the light that comes through the windows just absorbs into the wall. I will be repainting as soon as I can muster the energy!
My bedroom was painted a deep brown when I moved in. I had every intention to brighten that baby up soon, but the brown has since grown on me. My comforter is a bright anthro quilt, so it keeps the room from feeling dreary. All my accessories in the room are bright or light colors, and it really is a nice contrast.
I have a brown bedroom as well... and while I love the color, I am having serious problems finding suitable bedding. I would prefer something in a bright, or possibly even burnt orange, but i am having no luck whatsoever. i scoured the internet and local retailers to no avail whatsoever... any help would be greatly appreciated!
That's the color of my bedroom too!!! All the furniture is dark brown and I have the DKNY Pure Eyelet Duvet in Ivory and tan curtains. The only color in the room are some paintings my friend did for me. I usually go for lots of color but i love the way it looks. I first saw this done in a local store anyone is looking for ideas.

I painted my bedroom BM Davenport Tan - it's not tan at all, it is definitely brown! And I LOVE it. The room is not big, about 9 x 13, but has high ceilings.
It didn't make the room look smaller, I actually think it looks a little bigger, especially with a freshly painted bright white ceiling.
oooh! Yes. I have a terra cotta color bedroom but have been thinking of going darker. It's a north facing room that I spend zero daylight hours in. So I like it to be like a cozy cave. :-)
