Our friends at Brownstoner
recently launched a new feature at the site called The Insider
, and it's where blogger Cara Greenberg publishes her tours of Brooklyn homes.
Lauren Stern and Ori Schwartz have occupied their Carroll Gardens Summit Street row house apartment for four years, and in that time they've obtained furnishings and decor that are a mix of high and low, old and new. The goal is not to have anything match perfectly, but to feel like a collection of beloved objects found over time. The central railroaded room is set up for TV viewing - an activity where dim light is preferred anyway. Interior windows allow sunlight to flow throughout the space, and curtains maintain privacy in the bedroom outfitted with a luxurious custom-designed and upholstered headboard.
