Loose, fluid and elegant. We don't usually fall for pet portraits, but these brush drawings by Margie Bobbish (a Chelsea native), are unique.
Margie is a printmaker, watercolorist and painter, and her subject of choice is dogs and cats. Most of her drawings are a good deal more complicated and to some extent kitschy, but the best look as if they come from your favorite old children's book (ie. Puss in Boots).
We spotted these line drawings, which we far prefer. If we had a dog or cat, we'd beg her to paint him or her. If she'd consent to it, we'd beg her to do a line drawing of our favorite person. Her line is magic. (Via Domino)

I can definitely recommend interior watercolor pieces by Jeeyun Lee (NYC too, I'm pretty sure), who's provided watercolors and paintings for my projects at a great price.

They're really colorful, and small enough to not overpower smaller spaces.

I knew I should've bought her stuff months ago! I see her out in Union Square all the time and think about buying her watercolors. If the price of her art goes up I'll be disappointed, but she'll deserve it.
