Here is a DIY cord control solution. Our local paper recently highlighted an idea by Real Simple to use a bucket to store extension cords. The idea is to, just as a sailor or cowboy might, coil up the rope and place it in the bucket for easy, untangled storage. We think this could be a simple and inexpensive way to hide and organize cords in your home. With an attractive container and a little bit of work you could create your own storage device. We took this a step further and found this great little tutorial on how to store the cords in the bucket, but with a hole drilled for easy extension. If anyone decides to try this, we'd love to see it. Send us pics via e-mail or join our Flickr Group.
