Maybe it is because Spring is in the air and the snow is starting to melt in places that have been buried for months now, but I'm ready to invite over friends and party. It might be a birthday, new job, or simply just a Tuesday, but no mater what the celebration, this inexpensive party staple just got a makeover!
Most of us remember parties from when we were younger with a few streamers of crepe paper on the walls. They might have been twisted up a time or two, but that's about as creative as things got. Over at Oh Happy Day Jordan Ferney has been busy cutting up a storm and making this old party staple into something new and quite glamorous.
By folding or rolling your crepe paper up onto itself, you can cut the edges and then crinkle them with your hands to give this full and lush, colorful boa look. Even though they're intended to be used as party decorations, we're pretty sure they'd be great just hanging in the corner of a bedroom to give a burst of color too!

Just be careful to not allow crepe paper to get wet, even damp. The colors bleed, and the stains are pretty much unremovable.
Other than that, I agree, the fringed streamers have appeal -- the colors in the examples are pretty together, too -- getting two shades of a color makes everything look richer.

Hey guys. Don't mean to be a bummer, but you can buy these. I use them for everything from costumes (the best cheap parrot feathers ever) to good old festive party streamers.
