Welcome to 2012, a new year full of resolutions, better habbits, and general improvements. You're likely planning ahead for the year: choosing vacation locations, perhaps a job opportunity, or maybe marriage. But we think the beginning of a new year is a good time to plan ahead for big time tech purchases. After the jump we can give you some suggetions on how we go about doing that.
Of course, one of the most common new years resolutions is to be financially responsible. But that doesn't necessarily mean buying less things. But being concious about what you get and budgeting
accordingly is important. When we start out the new year, we look ahead for big purchases and try to allocate funds accordingly. Thankfully in the tech word, we can typically expect
when new products will be coming out if we're looking forward to a particular new device.
There are two definite purchases we're looking to make in the new year: one large, one small.
The greatly anticipated iPhone 5 has been stirring even more hype since the iPhone 4S was (disappointingly) released instead of it this past year. Everyone is anticipating another major game-changer with the iPhone 5 and some analysts are predicting that it'll be responsible for the Apple's strongest stock growth of the year. And thankfully with our subsidized price thanks to our service provider, it likely won't be much more expensive, if at all, than current iPhone prices.
This will be the larger purchase of the year for us as we finally commit to a dedicated sound system for our livingroom. The TV's speakers just aren't cutting it for us anymore and we're looking for a better option to play music for guests than our computer speakers. Factoring in decent speakers and a receiver we expect the purchase will get pretty pricey and have begun the process of allocating the money efficently. And of course, we'll be using Craigslist to pawn off some older tech that is no longer of need for us. We've been doing a lot of research online already but if anyone has recommendations, we're all ears. :)
What are you looking forward to in the new year? A new release like the iPhone 5 or perhaps upgrading long outmodded equiptment?
