Glass table lamps are a design staple because they are so easy to work with; they're visually lighter than air but provide an always welcome extra source of light and warmth to a room. It's hard to go wrong with glass as a material for lamps, in rooms from traditional to contemporary, they fit right in. We found five that also fit into any budget, including this fantastic new one from CB2 with a red cloth cord:
1. Rose Line Lamp, CB2, $99.95
2. Eva Colored Glass Lamp, Pottery Barn, $99.
3. Hoopla Amber Lamp, Crate & Barrel, $79.95
4. Jonsbo Egby Lamp, IKEA, $19.99
5. Glass Cylinder Lamp, JCPenney, $88.99

I have a couple of these clear lamps and I'm looking for ideas on fun things to put inside them???? Right now I have just like glass colored rocks and it's way too heavy to fill the whole lamp yanno...so it doesn't look right. Any cool new ideas?? Thanks :D
crumpled paper! write stories or memories on it and crumple it up!
why would you even pay $100.00 for a lamp?
Walmart is your friend!
Walmart is nobody's friend
Target has some very cool lamps too....and most nowhere near $100. I got a really neat turquoise glass one recently
I am sorry, but I have that Ikea lamp... I only got it because I needed two end tables with lamps, and I got tiny end tables. I have been able to replace one, and I can't wait till that other one is out of my life. It is not attractive. I might try dying it like that post on dying lampshades and pillows a few days ago. But by itself, no. It's such a plain little lamp with barely any light. I can barely stand it. However, I really like the turquoise Pottery Barn lamp and even the JC Penney one! And I agree with mcayne. I saw a really cute green glass one at Target that looked rustic and very neat!
I have been finding all kinds of great buys on Art Glass lamps at Antique Stores lately. Unfortunately, my cat can not be taught that the tables are not for walking on.
The Pottery Barn lamps are only for the base; you must purchase the lamp shade separately. Also, many of their lamps are catalog/internet only - you must pay for shipping.
@ nccata - Walmart IS your friend especially if you're on a budget! And so is Zellers (Canada only)!!!! It really peeves me off when people diss these stores! NOT EVERYONE IS ROLLING IN MONEY!
And I have the Jonsbo Egby Lamp personally I love it as a bedside lamp, it gives off enough light to be able to read and everything, but if you were using it as your sole lighting source in a large room I would not go with it.
I think a lot of people who "diss" Wal-Mart are not against people on a budget (I mean, aren't we all?!), but are against their lack of ethics to get you those low prices.
Home Goods is also a great place. I don't know if I'll ever play $100 for a lamp.
Target has a very nice glass table lamp right now for $30. Try Target.com. Honestly, it looks way more expensive than $30 and more like it's from Pottery Barn.
Home Goods (or TJ Maxx / Marshall's) is my favorite place for reasonably priced lamps from $30-80 a lamp. They always having matching pairs in tons of styles, usually with really nice lampshades.
I get a lot of compliments on my Home Goods mirrored lamps which look much more expensive than they actually were.
Random ideas for filling glass lamps: corks, shells and sand, tiny toys (dolls, matchbox cars), concert/sporting tickets, tiny glass ornaments, buttons, etc.
I just adore these, especially the coloured Pottery Barn ones... but nowhere in Australia seems to have caught on to coloured glass lamps yet. Anybody know somewhere that does them or that ships?
