We had no budget for new household things when we moved into our apartment this year. At first this was really frustrating, especially with the clutter of 'everyday' objects building up. Then came the moment of inspiration – small storage containers we didn't know we already owned staring back at us from the kitchen cupboard.
A sculptural cake tin became a key catcher, a square cake tin holds bathroom products, the wire fruit bowl also serves as bathroom storage and vintage bowls hold jewellery and things in the bedroom – if we ever need to use them for food, we just wash them.
Re-appropriating what you already own is a fun way to create new looks in your space and definitely the most budget friendly! For small storage, the kitchen is the best place to raid.
What storage solutions have you re-appropriated from one room to another?
