Fort Fun: 5 Cool Fort Accessories

It's that time again — when parents wish their kids would just go outside and play already! When I was a kid, building forts was a major part of my outdoor life. Living on the East Coast with plenty of wooded areas helped. Often, we didn't even need to build anything, and just found an overgrown nook somewhere.

Here are a few fort accessories to bring even more fun to fort play:

1. Block & Tackle Kit. Perhaps you need to move supplies in and out of your fort: voila, a block and tackle kit.

2. Cable Car Kit.  Similar to the block & tackle kit, but the cable car doesn't require the same amount of height. Maybe you have two ally forts that need to send coded messages back and forth to each other.

3. Stick-lets. These silicone fasteners help kids bind sticks together in any way they choose. Stick-lets let kids build their own structures, toys, tools, or whatever they so desire.

4. Rope Ladder. If your kids are lucky enough to have a tree fort or treehouse, how about an old fashioned rope ladder to get in and out?
