We were skeptical. Furniture, made from cardboard? Right. Then we saw Freefold's shelving system and we were pretty impressed with the aesthetics. Add that it can hold a crazy amount of stuff without crumbling and you've got something we're very intrigued by.
The flat pack system is made up of small modules that are folded together and assembled via a slot system. Slots on the side allow modules to connect together to create custom shapes and sizes. The pieces are made from recycled cardboard and feature backsides that look like three-dimensional pleats.
Freefold Furniture is based out of Australia. It's unclear whether or not these modular shelves are available just yet, but they do have a checkout section on their site, which make us thing they will be available soon.

i think the lounge looks very inviting- a kind of Seventies cluttered cool. i love media on full display. although the cardboard storage looks the business from a distance up close i am sure it will seem aesthetically unpleasing and rather cheap. if i had it i would always have thought i should have bought a gloss white bontempi casa wave or b&b italia shelf x
