Kids need a desk to work, but challenging floor plans or small rooms can sometimes make this difficult. This room, however, uses the small space between two bookcases to create a spot for homework or just model rocket assembly. All you need is a few cleats which means it's even do-able for renters.
With the help of a cleat attached to the wall under the desk and on the sides of the bookcase, the tabletop is supported and ready for use. For renters, since it will only involve a few screws, it just requires a quick patch when you move.
It keeps the vibe of the space feeling less cluttered while still giving little ones a place to learn. Check out full directions for this project over at Martha Stewart.

Like the idea of temporary installation for renters and the storage / bench seat. This set up is good for short duration use. Remove the cushion to have knee room while seated at the computer and control sunlight with blinds if using during the day. Contrast would be hard on the eyes while working on a computer.
I've been looking for a way to squeeze in an office space into a corner of a room that isn't really an office...and I think this just might work. Thanks!
