The waves are crashing and the temperatures are rising — it's summer time and that means some serious summer style. Blue is obviously a go-to color for the summer months and there's no wonder why. It's cool, calming and easy breezy.
Add blue to the office with a super shag rug — it'll soften the sterility of an office and make it a cozy and inviting space. Add just a touch of blue with some blue pendant lamps in the dining room for a small bit of unexpected of color. You don't have to go bold with blue, the small stuff can be just as powerful.
However, if you think more blue is the way to go — splash some dark blue on the walls in the living room. It'll surely make the space super dramatic without being too over the top. For a slightly more subtle effect, paint the walls a super light blue and you'll instantly be transported to the tranquil beaches!
How do you do blue?

I love the use of blue, though I might be biased since it's my favorite color! Great pictures. I like to use blue to highlight. I'll use it in curtains, pillows, or in an accent wall.
Here's another post to inspire. Here we used blue in a coastal color theme http://www.eieihome.com/blog/capturing-those-coastal-colors.html
Just re-painted our kitchen a soft gray-blue (had painted it a darker gray just few months ago as part of a renovation). Am LOVING it!
