CA BOOM! This weekend marked CA BOOM 4, which was held at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. There were tons of people and according to the CA Boom organizers, record attendances for Friday night and Saturday! This year the show was divided into several categories, including Prefab, Suraces & finishes, indoor/outdoor living, and the debut of Modern Parenting. The Modern Parenting area included booths from DucDuc, litto kids, and Scandinavian Child, to name just a few. There were also lots of local designers, architects, and artists that showed their latest and greatest, and it was great to be able to see many of the pieces up close and personal.
There were also a few great house tours that CA BOOM is famous for, but unfortunately we weren't able to go to any of them. Did any AT:LA readers get to go? Give us your report in the comments!
Here are some more pics from the show floor:

CA Boom was pretty cool, although a bit smaller (in area) than i would have expected for an LA show. Unfortunately I too didn't make it to any of the tours, at $75 a pop thats pretty pricey, The home tour I went to in NY a few years ago was a fraction of that and it had sites all over the city. CA Boom 4 was cool. I'd go again.

I did the Friday tour and it was terrific. I got some terrific ideas and it was clear that when it comes to decorating, less is more. I made some contacts at the show for my prefab plan (hope). There was a clear difference on the west coast view on design vs. east coast.
hey chris- that's an intersting observation- what did you think was the difference between the west coast and east?
