Is it just us, or are we being blessed with an unbelievable amount of local architecture tours this year? CA Boom just recently announced their Fall 2006 Design and Architecture tour, LA's New Independents and now we're trying to figure out how to balance our checkbook and calendars to fit in all these architectural tours. The enticing aspect of these tours, besides having the opportunity to snoop around for hidden clutter, is they're led by the actual designers and architects, allowing tour members to poke and pry for insight and ideas about these showcase homes. The intimate setting with renowned architects and designers makes the $75-$85 per tour seem a fair deal.
Each tour showcases 5-6 residences, and two include buildings presented as a "Modern Masterpiece". This year's tour attendees will be given entry into the Neutra VDL II Research House for the Silver Lake Tour, and the doors of the Stahl Residence open for the West Hollywood Hills Tour. And even without the inclusion of one of these historical residences, the other two tours should satiate the architectural curiosity of most any attendee.
