What do you get when you mix bring-your-kid-to-work, childhood creativity, and community support? You get Caine's Arcade!
9 year old Caine Monroy spent the summer going to work with his dad, who runs a used car parts store in East L.A. Since his dad needed time to work, he encouraged Caine to use some of the empty boxes and supplies in the shop to build his own favorite playland: an arcade. Caine's enthusiasm, determination and clever thinking helped him come up with all the trappings of a real arcade, built with his own hands.
He attracted the attention of one of his dad's few walk-in customers, Nirvan, who happens to make short films. Nirvan asked Caine's dad if he could make a short film about the arcade. And when you watch this gem, it will restore your faith in humanity. For reals.

White Enamel Flatwa...
I saw this a few days ago on a couple of sites and couldn't get over how sweet it was. What a positive kid. I can only imagine what it must have felt like to be him that day.
I did laugh when my husband pointed out all these people wanted to play, so inadvertently they were working this kid to the bone while he "ran" his games and fed tickets and things!!
I actually teared up a bit at this video. It is so utterly sweet and made me think so much of my older daughter. I really adore this.
I saw this the other day and was blown away - This kid has a bright future ahead of him!
