Years ago at the Minnesota State Fair I learned that virtually any food item tastes better when served on a stick. Cake is no exception, and we were wowed at a recent birthday party when dessert arrived in the form of sweet lollies inspired by Bakerella's Cake Pops.
What started as an experiment by Bakerella quickly escalated into an obsession, culminating in the book Cake Pops: Tips, Tricks, and Recipes for More Than 40 Irresistible Mini Treats. Cake pops have been covered pretty extensively over at the Kitchn but after seeing them in action at a kid's party we wanted to celebrate them here at Ohdeedoh. These could work with virtually any theme and they are as delicious as they are adorable. As an added bonus, toddlers seem to keep the mess to a minimum when their cake is served on a stick.
