With so many options in energy generation, and with regulations varying from state to state, it can be confusing to choose a renewable energy source appropriate for our schools, businesses, and households. This workshop will feature a panel of distinguished energy experts who will help guide us toward a clearer understanding of how to integrate sustainable sources of energy into our lives. Participants include Jason K. Babbie, environmental policy analyst; Leslie Hoffman, executive director of Earth Pledge; and representatives from Environmental Advocates of New York (EANY). $50; includes breakfast and all materials. Part of the Working Towards a Sustainable Future Series presented by the Graduate Center, CUNY, Sustainability Education Center, AIA NY Chapter, and Metropolis Magazine. DWR evening: Hot Topics of the Design World
Poll reveals people would rather talk about it than "just do it." Design Within Reach sponsors a Creative Crossfire series on design the second Tuesday of each month. Co-sponsored by the Industrial Designer's Society of America (IDSA), this could be a yawn, but it could also be surprising given DWR's brand new energy and retail push into our city. You be the judge. MGR

"Come down and listen to a vibrant and absorbing debate on design
as part of our Creative Crossfire series. We will welcome five
senior-level creative managers from the worlds of advertising,
fashion, product development and marketing to the Studio for a
panel discussion on current hot topics in the design world.
Please RSVP to soho@dwr.com by Sunday, April 11."
