When we were recently in NY, we ran into B&B Italia and saw the amazing outdoor line "Canasta" in person for the first time. Slightly outrageous and definitely...
...oversized, it manages to straddle the line between traditional and modern.
Based on a classic geometric woven pattern called Vienna Straw, Urquiola has blown it up to a massive scale and used it to wrap very modern, high sided, rounded steel structures. Accented by bold pillows in natural colors, it had a very neo-sixties, luxe hippie feel that we were digging.
The Canasta line (2007) includes all sorts of seating options from chaises to sofas to regular armchairs as well as tables in multiple sizes and heights.

What do you think? Fabulous for poolside or too OTT for outdoors?
