Who knew? This is proof that there may honestly be a tool for almost anything...and we're thinking this actually looks like a good one. The Candle Carver ($9.95) neatly carves out a smooth niche in an apple (or tiny pumpkin) to accommodate a votive. Perfect for holiday parties and beyond, we can imagine using this year round (red ones on the patio in the Summer, Golden apples in the Fall, shiny Granny Smiths on a pale blue tablecloth in the Spring)...
By Lush Life, available through Amazon for $9.95.

It all seems like a shameful waste of food to me...
seems like a good idea...but I wouldn't want more clutter in my kitchen. I prefer a multi-use paring knife.
I could have used that in college, but not to make candles...

I thought the same thing!
Great minds etc etc...
Seriously? You can do this with a paring knife. Or, you know, eat it instead of wasting a perfectly good apple.
seems like a waste of food and metal to make a ridiculous one-use tool like this.
This would be a great tool to own if you're a professional party planner. Otherwise, I agree that it's clutter.
