Happy Friday folks! To celebrate, we're going to check out the offices of branding and product design strategy masters at Candy Black Design. Using a minimalist palette of black and white, they showcase how a stylish office can be thrown together with maximum impact through clever use of decor, tech, and material throughout an open loft workspace.
While stark contrast palettes with black and white tend to lean towards a more masculine interpretation of a space, Candy Black Design manages to warm up the space with the use of faux fur, leather seating, and comfortable throw rugs. Meanwhile, their iMac and Macbook laptops utilize Apple's aesthetic to easily complement the sexy industrial-themed space.
The addition of shelves showcasing vintage tech (cameras and typewriters, woo!) and coffee table books detract from the cinder-block walls and instead focuses the attention to the seating used for creative collaboration in the open space. The fact that all of the floors are nice contemporary white makes charging all those Apple goodies even easier on the eyes.
Looking back to what the space was before; a sparse empty area with a questionable floor aged poorly even for old building standards. We're glad Candy Black Design got their hands dirty and did what they did to flip the space into something incredibly trendy (in a good way of course) and functional for the creative work that they do.
"Candy Black is a creative studio working in the fields of branding, creative direction, graphic design and interior design. We believe that design should be exciting, memorable and effective and not restricted to one particular format. We are always on the look out for new ways to answer the briefs of our clients, offering both cutting edge design and new media to traditional craft and production. Although we are specialists in graphic and interior design, we like to work across all media in order to maximize the potential of the projects we undertake."
