Cape Schanck’s Tank

Cape Schanck’s Tank

Hands down, this is by far the most impressive one of its kind we've ever seen. The Cape Schanck house built by Paul Morgan [as a part time house away from the city for him & his family] features the above a water tank, in the centre of the kitchen/lounge/dining area. The roof runs directly into it so it collects rain water for drinking and there is an additional tank in the back yard where the excess water drains to for flushing toilet, watering garden etc. But the best thing about this tank is…

…that it cools the air in the kitchen/lounge/dining area during summer by just being there. There is some maintenance though- during winter the tank needs to be drained and covered in an insulating jacket. More of Paul Morgan Architect's designs can be seen here.
