If you're in the early stages of planning some handmade holiday gifts this year and you know a little person who loves toy cars, then you have to bookmark this one. This playmat is absolutely stunning. It has Grandma's house complete with button fruit trees, a school, a gas station with an elastic hairband gas pump hose, the local toy store, and a cupcake shop!
We're so happy that Jill Green of Homemade by Jill is one of our Big Blog Family members, because she never ceases to blow us away with her creativity. Even though this gorgeous gift for her son took her 50 hours to make and aged her 10 years, we totally agree when she says it was it worth it.

Beautiful - I'm sure it will be a wonderful keepsake too.
OMG it has Trader Joe's!!!! So awesome!! I can only dream of being this crafty and clever!
A cupcake shop and a Trader Joe's-- she seriously understands the mind of three year old, at least mine!
(But the trader joe's doesn't have a balloon!)
Love the rickrack on the railroad ties. This is completely awesome and I agree - I can only dream of being this crafty. I am seriously impressed.
she doesnt have to do a crafty thing for the next 30 years!!! this is awesome and awe inspiring. makes me want to take quilt classes.
Ridiculously adorable and awesome!
It also seems like the not-quite-so-crafty among us could do something similar with felt and glue, if that much sewing/quilting is intimidating...
