When we say puzzle rug, we're guessing you think of a rug shaped into puzzle pieces, like this one or this one. Not the Car Puzzle Rug from French-based company Youlka Designs. This wool felt rug has a bazillion cars cut out of the top layer of the rug that kids can spend hours replacing. We counted.
The Cars Puzzle Rug is made from 100% wool felt, and the designs are laser cut into the top. Just in case someone (who, me?) decides to take all the cars out and refuse to put them back, it comes with a sack that holds the pieces, and it still functions as a rug without its inserts (albeit a little unevenly).
Youlka has several other cute designs, like animals and roosters, but currently we could only find the cars rug available for purchase online.
See other designs at the French site for Youlka Designs. The Cars Rug is available for purchase at Cosmoligne.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Gorgeous and fun but I think the possibility of losing a car...or finding cars all over the house would drive me nuts.
Ouch, the price ! 0_0
I'm with Bria. I think this looks super cool and is a fun idea, but in practice, it would drive me insane. I'm admittedly not the most patient person in the world with this sort of thing. I think if I had a big house with a devoted playroom, or a maid, or I were less stressed, I might be OK with this.
Cute and fun, but wouldn't the vacuum cleaner suck up the cars?
Nice, but far to expensive for the duration of use.
I wondered the same thing as Mimi! If the vacuum didn't get them my cats surely would! We just put a nice rug in our nursery and I had to shut the door from the clawing it up!
i must be missing the point. i thought puzzles were to learn about different shapes fitting into the correct space. i suppose this is not a learning puzzle but a decorative one???
Puzzles are also for developing fine and gross motor skills for tiny fingers and hands. They serve multiple purposes. Similary, kids need more than just shape/number/alphabet stimuli. They also need emotional stimuli and I get the feeling that a small child trying to stick all these little pieces into a rug space could get pretty frustrating after a while, haha.
I can't even appreciate the design because of how much all those cars all over the house would drive me crazy. I have enough cars underfoot already.
Oh yeah...and the price. YIKES!
I love it, but in practice can imagine a lot of dirt and lint collecting in there. Oh, now I'm Debbie Downer. Wah wahhhh.
Too cute, but yike$!! Maybe it if came with a full-time employee to maintain it. Honestly, I don't know anyone who would willingly subject themselves to this...despite it's cuteness.
How do you vacuum a white rug with lots of pieces? Honestly, a wool rug with a simple line pattern that kids can use as "a road" is sufficient. More modern and longer lasting (and likely much cheaper).
