What I Love About My Entryway:
This is the first time we've ever had a real-live entryway of our own, but a lot of early visitors thought it was a common hall shared with other units. So we turned it into our very own slice of Disneyland. Imagine our glee when we discovered two original 1949 planter boxes under some ugly plywood on the landing! We waterproofed them and added self-watering planter inserts, then installed outdoor lighting to highlight our tiki vignettes. We even have the soundtrack to Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room on a motion sensor so that it plays whenever guests arrive!
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Entryway:
Add art and soft furnishings to make an exterior-looking area feel interior.

An entryway can be a great place to display the goofy stuff that may not mesh with more sophisticated rooms in the rest of your house.

Plants add visual interest and life and are easily maintained with self-watering planter inserts.
