What's even better than beautiful, graphic wallpaper? 3-Dimensional graphic wallpaper! One look at these "Iconic Panels" by B+N and we were done for. The panels are created using an innovative process of formed laminate or reclaimed wood veneer over a carved wood core...

The reclaimed and recycled wood veneer panels might be our favorite finish. The aged wood comes from one of three places: olive barrel staves (Western Redwood), old gym bleachers (Douglas Fir), or deconstructed buildings throughout Southeast Asia (Asian Teak).

All of the patterns are also available in plain laminate which — we're guessing — could be designed with any custom color imaginable, though they are just lovely in white...

Amidst the dozen or so patterns, one for Helvetica lovers everywhere...

Nomade Express Slee...
This seems like a slightly grown-up version of wood paneling. Cool in small doses, but a whole room in one of the wood-grain versions would be a bit much.
but would be awesome on a short wall between rooms or accent wall in an entry
especially in a high-traffic area where you might not want to hang any artwork
imagine flanking a fireplace with that paisley!
Oooh, I can see lots of uses for these -- so they must be expensive!
(I agree, one or two panels together, or maybe one small accent wall or niche, would be all you would want...)
very cool (in small doses).
Did somebody create an account and download the pricing info? What's the damage?
Somewhere in NY there is a (Thai?) restaurant that has glossy (plastic?) red walls with a paisley pattern. I've wondered about the availability of that material.
I jumped through the hoop. The standard panels range from around $600 to about $1000. The reclaimed wood panels are all between $1000 up to about $1600.
Fantastic as a headboard.
I have a white Helsinki patterned panel for sale. It is brand new, I mis measured and ended up with one extra panel.
It is in the NYC/NJ area. Awesome panel, very dramatic.
Please let me know if anyone is interested!

Mose,
My building is re-doing the lobby (I'm on the condo board and we're doing it on the cheap). We actually chose the Helsinki pattern for our design. I shall email you now...
:)
WOW! These are gorgeous!
The panel on the right reminds me of a series of paintings I saw called pea pods. They'd go well together.

So, about $20-30/sqf. Not cheap, but also not outrageous. Something to bookmark.
Something else for the list for after I get the trust fund.
I bet any local cabinet shop with a CNC router could custom-carve you a 4X8 sheet of whatever in any design you want for *way* less money.
For example, the ridiculously cool people at BecauseWeCan CNC-carved this *whole* 7' tall professional puppet theater for $1000: http://www.becausewecan.org/PuppetTheater
