Casart's not a wallpaper, it's a canvas-like vinyl with a respositionable adhesive backing (think giant Post-It Note for your walls) so it won't cause any damage. Choose from an array of colours, faux finishes and patterns (we're thinking the zebrawood would be cool) and you can change out your room to suit your mood or the seasons. And, if you're in the market for a headboard, there's a faux padded headboard option. For more information click here
Before moving into her new apartment, a friend of ours tried to negotiate a paint job with her new landlord. She had dreams of saturated colours; he gave her two choices: white...or white. "I'm so frustrated; I so want the walls to be a cool colour." Well, now they can be. See a video of Casart being installed, after the jump...

Nomade Express Slee...
That stuff is mighty expensive... It would probably be cheaper to paint anyway and repaint when you move!
Very cool. Afraid to find out the cost. But it appears to be salvageable so I'm assuming that means reusable.
"It would probably be cheaper to paint anyway and repaint when you move!"
I agree - I don't think landlords care what the walls look like when you're in occupancy...
...They only really care what they look like when you leave.
Although this looks fun and convenient for those who are not allowed to paint, honestly, their prices are too expensive!
Cool video though!
Ouch. 39 sq.ft. is $312. I think I'd go for buying some very fine fabric and hanging it.
(Don't forget that fabric is very flammable.)

Not wool and silk - which is one reason why professional interior decorators prefer to use textiles made from these fibers when upholstering walls.

Cheaper to paint sure but a flat out of the can color. These things are decorative faux finishes. I know for a fact the going rate for a professional decorative painter is anywhere from $20-$40 a square foot! And that's just for the simple finishes. Looks like you can reuse these. That seems worth it. Did anyone check out that upload a photo thing? Looks like I just found my new christmas gifts to give to friends and family.
Soak a tested fabric in liquid starch and apply the fabric to the wall. Paint with starch again if needed while wet. Let dry. Voila! Decorated wall.
When you pull the fabric down it does not harm the wall.
not worth the $$$$
just paint and repaint, or do some fabric hangings!
also, you could easily get that effect of Spanish tile on the stairway with cheap linoleum
although, yes... it wouldn't be easily removable without damaging
WAY too expensive. seriously if you are renting (like i am) chances are you dont want to spent $800 to change the color of a wall. put that in the bank to save and try to buy one day.
Cheep3r5 is right...soak fabric in liquid bleach, apply to wall, and let dry...kinda like a fabric wallpaper. Peel off when finished. I saw a friend do this to her military housing walls and it was gorgeous!
Okay...I've got a question? What happens if your child splatters some kind of food that stains on your newly installed, fabric soaked in liquid bleach walls? Oops! Ruined...for good. I'm constantly having kid "mishaps". Could you image if you paid to have the real stuff on your walls?
Did anyone read the FAQ's? You can wipe them down with a damp cloth?! You gotta give em kudos for that.

Plus, did anyone catch this: they are mildew resistant and exceed US and British flame and smoke requirements.

Hey, I'm not knocking em until I try em. I haven't painted most of my interior because I just know my children will ruin the walls. At least I know there is a product out there that could solve my problem, and make my house look "designer".
I liked the installation video. It looked pretty easy for one person to put it up and take it down. Plus, it was a neat presentation using classical music and speeded up animation. I wouldn't mind the cost if it's good quality, it's cleanable and I can take it with me when I move and use again in my next apartment. I'm into things that are eco-friendly and this is. There's less paper used in ecommerce transactions, you can use it again either on a wall or for other decorative ideas and you can store it in the box it comes in.
Fabric soaked in liquid bleach? You mean liquid starch.
Like I said, they are cool. But the cost of doing one wall is so far beyond what I would ever spend on one wall. I guess if you weren't affected by the economy and didn't want to paint it would be a good option. There are a helluva lot of washable paints for those with kids. This comes under the heading of a luxury item, imo. A smart, well designed one, but a luxury.
I think CASART Coverings are a great, high-quality, good value creation for apartment living. And, unlike painting or wallpapering which you leave behind when you move, the CASART Coverings are re-usable & can go with you. I LOVE this re-usable product! Also, a friend, with multiple CASART Coverings, changes her walls and the colors with the seasons. She says it is easy--it's just like removing and replacing a jumbo “post-it” note without the installation cost that can go with wallpaper or even painting. Plus, finger prints and dirt wipe right off.
I loved the idea right up until I saw the price. I'll stick to my much cheaper alternatives.
@jackandellie, please stop spamming for your product. By my count, this is your fifth post extolling Casart. And @Alexan, same to you. It's a transparent ploy that will probably backfire, because it makes your company look shady and desperate for business.
I second Rosenatti.
i agree rosenatti.
looks like the spammer, "jackandellie" http://community.apartmenttherapy.com/com/User/Lindseyaw
is one of the owners of that company, Lindsey Wood:

"alexan" is probably the other owner.
and these 2 are probably more sockpuppets from that company as well. both registered the same day as this post, both only have one comment:

My walls were already covered in the basic equivalent of floor laminate. I'm currently in the process of covering them in duct tape and paper! I've had surprisingly good reviews thus far; we'll see how it goes when I finish my living/bedroom.
