Casio's New Exilim Camera Has Built-In Photoshop

This definitely has an audience of ready and waiting consumers: Casio's next release of compact digital cameras, the Exilim Zoom Z300 and Z250 will both come with a "makeup function to beautifully capture people's faces." Magazine cover-ready airbrushing in an instant? Sign us up.

The function recognizes faces and makes your skin look smoother (blurs) and softens shadows on your face (lightens). The intensity of the image processing can be selected from 12 levels.

The EX-Z300 is 10.1 Megapixels with a 4x optical zoom lens. It is capable of shooting still images up to 3648 x 2736 and 24fps video with a resolution of up to 1280 x 720. It uses SDHC memory cards and has a built-in memory of 38.5 Megabytes. Scheduled for launch tomorrow, August 29.

The EX-Z250 is 9.1 Megapixels with a 4x optical zoom lens. It is capable of shooting still images up to 3456 x 2592 and 30fps video with a resolution of up to 848 x 480. It uses SDHC memory card and has a built-in memory of 38.5 Megabytes. It is slated for launch Aug 29, Sept 5 and Sept 26, depending on the color.

more like "makeup function because you aren't attractive enough as you are"

i think this is awfully sad! but i say that as a photographer...as a digital photographer that already photoshops every image not to beautify someone's ugly mug, but because digital images actually need levels and sharpening. what's wrong about this is the push for everyone to put forth images of perfection when no such thing exists. i'd prefer a camera that gives everything googly eyes or something. seriously!

its better for everyone involved to learn how to use the "Heal" tool in Photoshop and get the Noise Ninja plug in - those 2 get you 80% of the way. the other 20% of result take 80% of effort and get that final perfect result, but are certainly worth it for that special photo.

this depresses me.
