Name: Cassie
Location: St Kilda — Victoria, Australia
I moved into my small one bedroom flat with my Pugalier 'Duck' only a few months ago after returning from 4 years in London. It was in rather a terrible state and required a lot of cleaning, painting and imagination to enable the small space to accommodate my extensive collection of eclectic trinkets and artwork from around the world.
Even though there is barely an inch of wall or floor not adorned with a brash curios from Mexico or some graffiti-art brought off the street in East London; white walls and shelving help to show-case the bold techni-colour décor whilst not creating a sense of claustrophobia or overwhelming aesthetic-chaos. My style is a fusion of warehouse/industrial-chic and Mexican-kitsch all encapsulated in a sun-bathed Australian beach-side apartment.
Thanks, Cassie!

I love your black and chrome rocker!
Love, love, love this! I'm a big fan of Mexican-kitsch and have quite a bit of it myself. And what a cute puppy.
What a great bright space!
I love the first picture of your bedroom. It's so cheerful, crisp, and bright, as well as open to the outdoors. It must be a glorious place to wake up each morning. Gorgeous!
Love it! I especially love how you used the big windows with your yard as your headboard. If I had windows w/ that size and wasn't facing someone else's bathroom, I'd consider taking down the blind!
I want to see a HT!
1) I love St. Kilda and if I ever had a chance to move back to Australia (I feel in love studying abroad), I would live there.
2) Your dog is a sweetie
3) I love flat whites!
Your apartment is so charming!
Great layout, especially your lounge arrangement, and love your cities freize, too. Great job, must be nice to come home to at the end of the day.
Awesome place! Duck is soo cute.
Oh, that cute little Duck!!! :-)
Comfy!
It seems nice, although it's hard to tell a lot from a photo of an espresso machine. The chrome rocker is a good find.
Cassie's description of her place suggests that she's fitting into St Kilda very well...
Brilliant escape door in bedroom for part time lover.
White with pops of color around makes your place look so cheery! Does the window behind your bed actually include a door as well? I'm trying to wrap my head around what's going on there.
Warm and happy home!
Loved your windows. Splly the bedroom one- wonderful, great light. And the dresser in the living room. AND that list of places art in the kitchen.
Is there a before and after to this one?
cute flat
love the duck!
Hey all, thanks for your kind comments.
RE: the bedroom window. It is actually not a door, but a window...so any 'lovers' escaping this way have quite the drop (probably making the visit not really worthwhile :-)).
I will pass on your compliments to Duck! The Pugalier always steals the show...
x Cassie
What duck? Is it the light fixture above the chair? If so I can't really see it. Curious. Very curious.
Anyway, great place. I would never move. Thanks for sharing! (Someone, please tell me where the elusive duck is, please, please!)
Hey Blondrea,
'Duck' is my dog's name. The light is a wall-mounted lamp I got in London. It's in the shape of a pigeon with the most fantastic bright orange/industrial-style cord...

Hey Cassie. Love your home, love Duck and love your afghan. Isn't is funny how something that was always associated with visiting your Nana has come back in? Well, maybe only in NZ and Aust !!
I have window envy!
*waving from t'other side of the Nullabor!
Duck Envy! Thanks, Cassie!
Cheers!
