Ever feel bored while you wait the 2:30 for the microwave to nuke your box of noodles? Wouldn't it be great to have a tiny little screen nearby playing a random two minute and 30 second video? Yeah, somebody else though so too.
The CastOven is a microwave with a twist—a 10.4-inch LCD screen in the door and an unusual link to YouTube.
When you drop lunch inside and set the timer, the CastOven instantly finds a random YouTube clip of a similar length and displays it on the built-in screen while you wait for your grub.
It's a concept gadget for now. But is this something you'd actually buy, Unplgg'rs? The prototype requires that the microwave is hooked up to a computer (Like the kitchen computers we've been trending), but would you be sold if this CastOven had a built-in processor? Tell us in the comments!

how stupid are people to think this is something the world needs?
1. honestly do we need to watch that much crap on the internet
2. most microwaves are in places that would not be that comfortable to watch on a crappy screen that probably doesn't have a large viewing angle
3. i don't even want to know what the price would be.
4 how many people actually want to wire this in to the network. Lets make it wifi, oh wait, microwaves interrupt wifi signals.
5 what kind of content would you be watching, i would estimate that 90% of youtube is crap no one wants to see.
This is funny in a "because I can" way but embarrassingly bad in every other. I can only imagine what videos would pop-up that remove any appetite you once had two minutes 30 seconds ago.
As a person who is usually the first to embrace new technology and who will more than likely buy into a new and sometimes useless gadget.... I would never get this. The tired idea of putting a tv on every appliance of the future has been destroyed by a little device we can carry on us at all times that is a phone, a tv, the internets, an organizer, a keeper of anything ever and even plays games! Its called the iPhone. Now we do not need tv's on all our appliances.
Ever notice how in all movies depicting the future, there are screens/holographic images inundating the background? Like, Minority Report...would we ever need to have little videos on our cereal boxes?
Of course, a lot of seemingly useless technology is great because when it comes out and a lot of people hear about it or see it...then someone smarter comes along and repurposes that technology into something incredibly useful and valuable. But we need all the crazy inventors to make all this stuff up first.
How bout you just come back in 2:30 minutes?
