Last year was my first year to experience hosting a Thanksgiving in London. I ordered up a turkey and some sides from Whole Foods in an attempt to have an effortless and relaxing Thanksgiving. The turkey proved to be anything but relaxed.

HIRST.png Artist Jack du Rose, known previously for his work on the infamous diamond skull by Damien Hirst, is gearing up for 'Danger,' his first solo show in London. The exhibit will feature eight creepy-crawly creatures like reptiles and jellyfish that have been transformed into beautiful handmade jewels. In other news, Artistic Tile takes creative marketing approach with designers, and numbers slip in Oprah's media products across the board.

225.jpg LandProp, the company with ownership of IKEA's intellectual property, announced the development of a two million square foot London property with over 1,200 homes, commercial space and shared community space. Taking cues from IKEA fundamentals, LandProp says "We want to make developments which are done for families, that have good design and good quality, but also a certain simplicity." In other news, Martha Stewart's revenue earnings are up at Macy's and Home Depot, and plans for the third part of New York City's Highline park are a go!

We are recently relocated ex-pats living in London. With Phillip's job as a corporate attorney transferring us from sunny Southern California to gloomy London, I sought to find the brightest apartment I could. As an interior designer, I knew that I didn't want a pre-furnished flat as is common in the UK. We landed in London's design friendly neighborhood of Clerkenwell in an old Silk Factory Loft that was re-purposed for residential use in 2000. More


For anyone who's design mad, the end of September's a great time to be in London. The London Design Festival (LDF), now in its ninth year, has over 280 events going on all over town (exhausting!) with a lot of the big splashy shows taking place this weekend. Yesterday I hit up the 100% Design show in Earl's Court. Here's some of the stuff that got my attention. More
