5 firms have presented bids at public meetings for the redesign of Chicago's Navy Pier. The winner of the $85 million project will be revealed in March, so work can be completed by the landmark's 100th anniversary in 2016.

Better Homes & Gardens conducted a survey on consumer attitudes toward home ownership, renovations, design, and more. The results show that although the future of the economy is uncertain, 8 of 10 surveyed believe owning a home is a good financial investment. More people are taking an interest in designing their home, with that number growing from 33% last year to 38%.

This summer, MoMA's PS1 courtyard will get a huge starburst-shaped tent coated in titanium nanoparticles meant to filter pollution. The tent will also house a DJ booth and keep crowds cool by misting water.
