You'd think living in a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright would be cool enough for most kids, but twelve-year-old Jim Berger wanted more — at least for his dog. In 1956 he wrote Wright asking for a dog house to be designed to match his own home and, after a second request, Wright eventually complied. While it was demolished in 1973, it was recently rebuilt and is taking a tour across the country. More

I came across this simple up-cycled suitcase project on the Covet Garden blog. By creating a custom cushion fitted to an existing vintage suitcase the blogger created a cute, compact bed for her furry friend. More
We miss the good ol' aquarium: the sound of the bubbles, the mesmerizing and relaxing underwater menagerie of aquatic life. Almost everyone in our family owned one in the 90's, but they've seemed to have fallen out of favor the last few years. A plant-topped pet house? Works for us. The Kokon Kennel designed by French design company Pousse Creative is both a small, cozy place for your small cat or dog (use it as a hideaway or as a litter box - either way it has a door on the back for easy cleaning) and a decorative side table for a few potted plants or flowers. Made in France from recycled plastic.

That's another space saving way to keep plants off the floor -- and it's frankly way more attractive than the typical dog or cat bed we've seen. It could make a rather sweet smelling litter box too, with the right choice of plants.

We headed straight to the apps store with kitty in mind. Here are the five tried and true apps our cat loves. More
