We live in a disposable society where perfectly repairable items are discarded before their time. But thank goodness for people like tommyfilth over at DeviantArt, who turned an old Kitchenaid mixer into something every Mandalorian bounty hunter loving fan will recognize at just a glance...
MoreSure, Samsung's $3999 flagship refrigerator is pretty impressive on both the technology and design tip, as reported when we were scouring and reporting from the floors at CES. But what we really wanted to report previewed behind closed doors and we had to promise to stay mum about it until this week...

When using appliances like washing machines and dishwashers - putting soap in and taking clean things out - one can sometimes forget that the appliance itself needs a good cleaning now and then. And boy, did my top-loading workhorse need it. To tell you how much, I'll just say two words: Cloth. Diapers. More

I've become increasingly particular about how I make coffee at home. I'm still pretty easy going about the quality of a cup of good morning from a coffee shop or restaurant, but at home, I tend to geek out with a carefully concocted cup (two at most). During the holiday break I had a little personal time to finish a few home improvement projects that were forever on my to-do list, including installing a new hallway rug, hang up a gallery's worth of art and prints, and even paint (just a door). But there was one project I was unable to completer: covering up the cold air welcoming window air conditioner unit (38 degrees in Los Angeles has gone from a novelty to a bothersome issue). Then I discovered this project... More
There are some pieces of kitchen technology that don't seem to evolve quickly. For example, microwaves from 20 years ago still basically look like the microwaves of today. However, there are new models equipped with updated technology to help you cook better than ever before in an instant... More
