This was the biggest, brightest thing at the show this weekend at the Arch Digest Show (which is fabulous and runs through tomorrow, Sunday, 3.25), and it put a SMILE on my face when I saw it. Granted an official license to reproduce this iconic image in totally hot colors, this new offering is worth checking out. More
Concealed appliances aren't exactly a "trend" since modern, minimal kitchens have been big for a while now, but the growing US popularity of induction cooktops and built-in wall ovens have helped to refine the aesthetic. At the Architectural Digest Home Design Show last week, we saw several examples of slim or even completely concealed appliances, particularly at the Valcucine and Miele booths.

At the AD Home Show, there were lots of artists displaying their work, and two ceramic designers in particular caught my eye. The first is Jerilyn Virden, who I met several years ago when I worked for a gallery that represented her work. She creates hollow and double-walled ceramic vessels with multiple layers of glaze that feel like rough or smooth stone. dbO Home — founded by David and Dana Brandwein Oates — also references the natural world, with ceramic surfaces that contain the light imprint of leaves and flowers. French and Italian showrooms collaborated this year on the design and installation of a 1,700-square-foot 'Modern Home' at the Architectural Digest Show. With a kitchen by Valcucine, furniture by Ligne Roset, and closets by Rimadesio, the space was tricked out in high-end designer decor, but I couldn't help wishing there was a little more color… More
This year's Architectural Digest Home Design Show featured a lot of the old favorites and some new and exciting prospects to boot. Lindsey Adelman Studio, booth pictured above, always knows how to turn it out with simple materials that allow the interesting shapes of her lighting pieces to stand out. More
Green was the color at this year's Maison & Object and the Home & Housewares Show, but at the smaller Architectural Digest show in New York, we saw warmer tones dominating — oranges, reds, and the Pantone color of 2011, Honeysuckle. More
When Diane von Furstenberg unveiled her new home collection to the press last month, she proposed that "you should have as many duvet covers as you have luuvaahs" (emphasis added). By our count at the Architectural Digest show's DVF booth, the cosmopolitan woman would do well with a rack of 20. More
Saw these big lamps at the show and really liked the way they hung over the space like gentle giants. We took shots of the lamp from all angles and then include them with the link below. More
My personal favorite find at the Home Show this year was a collection of vintage circus posters created during Poland's communist era. The bold, colorful, seemingly-fun designs incorporate subversive themes if you take a closer look. More
