Damask is beautiful, but it can also be a bit imposing. These summery home goods have all the charm of traditional damask with a lighter, modern feel.

Designer Denyse Schmidt grew up in a family of makers of the hobbyist variety. Surrounded by old textile mills in central Massachusetts, she watched her mother sew her own clothes and her dad make furniture. Along the way (with a stopover at RISD) Denyse picked up the skills for what would become her business: patchwork quilts, colorful fabrics and paper goods. 

Did you have flower sheets on your bed at some point in your childhood? I definitely did. The motif is incredibly common and has clearly been around for, like, ever; William Morris was already making good use of it in the mid-nineteenth century for his wallpapers. So we know you can easily find some pretty flower sheets anywhere.
