- I love the furniture I curated for this room, the print of the goat (by a Minnesota artist) and my textiles that I layer the bed with. The bed was repurposed from old temple pillars (by an L.A. store called Tara Home) and the two mismatched Tibetan nightstands imbue this place with a lot of personality. I also love the huge windows that face the bed. When the bushes outside are flowering, humming birds come in droves. Bees too.
I've been obsessed with storage beds for about as long as I've had a bedroom. They are the perfect marriage of form and function. And, of course, they are an ideal small space solution. - What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love that my room is girly without being an over the top pinksplosion. The room is pretty much a beige, featureless box and even though I can't paint the (scratched and stained) wall colour or change out the (ugly and broken) window treatment, there is still a lot of pretty to make my eyes happy. This is my and my daughter's retreat away from the boys (my partner and dog) and we love to cuddle in bed together and look at the clouds drift by.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love the colors and the wallpaper and the tiny coziness. I love that the wallpaper wraps around the room and envelopes my husband and myself like a cocoon. I love that it is so tiny that it can only be used to sleep, read in bed and get dressed in. I love that when I wake up in the middle of the night and open my eyes the moon is right outside my window and the trees are all around us. It is a lovely room and just right for two people.

- We don't get a lot of light in our apartment, so I tried to keep the colors very vibrant for those dark gray, rainy days - especially in winter. I know most people like "soothing" colors in the bedroom, but with 2 small kids, I never seem to have any problem falling asleep at the end of the day!

- Our bedroom is a rarity in our neighborhood. Most of the 1930s bungalows like ours have only a narrow strip of attic, but we found a gem in this house. The entire half-story upstairs is open and airy with dormers and built-ins. With all the angles and corners, and the view of the mature trees outside, it feels secret and special like a treehouse!

- I love the 1940s vintage windows. I painted all our interior window trim in Benjamin Moore's Nightfall- a wonderful charcoal color that reads black. I think it really makes them stand out! I also love our ginormous elk antlers above the bed. They are from Gunnison, CO, where my family has been vacationing for generations. Some people may not like their colossal size but I think they definitely make a statement!

- I love the large windows and how on weekends the light will flood in and warm up the space. My absolute favorite place to be in my apartment is in bed!

- We love how bright the space is. During the day, it is filled with natural sunlight and at night our light fixtures give off a relaxing and romantic glow. The white walls (previously dark grey) are also the perfect background for a refreshing retreat from the outside chaos of NYC life. We can relax with reduced distractions and think openly about new, creative endeavors.
