First of all, I apologize if the title of this post put a certain AC/DC song in your head. I couldn't help myself. As I've been putting together all of the My Bedroom Retreat contest posts over the past four weeks, I noticed a definite trend of black bedroom walls. With the recent resurgence of a more laid back, bohemian style, I am ready to step back from my usual palette of cool whites and grays and embrace a warm, richly patterned look. I stumbled upon Kantha throws when shopping for bedding for my new place and immediately developed a serious design crush.

The prettiest, most grown-up bed I've ever slept in was a twin. I was 21 and not really a pink person, but I loved that bed upholstered in a rich rose linen. While twin beds otherwise make me think of little kids, the moral of the pink bed story is that a well-styled twin can maximize space without looking juvenile.
