- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- We love that our bedroom is a room that we love being in. But we didn't always love it. It took two years and three paint color changes to find what we wanted. We salvaged the headboard from the trash room in our building, built the nightstands, built a sliding barn door to serve as the window treatment, built a small makeup room from an unused closet space, installed sliding doors to close off the space from the living room, and only bought the things (like art and bedding) that we felt we couldn't live without. We love that we took the time and put in the work to create a beautiful room, but in the end what matters most is that we love how we feel when weâre in there.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I am fascinated by the past, whether in my own memories, my family tree or cultural history. I wanted to let my creativity burst in this room through inspiration from my travels. My arabesque bedding and area rug remind me of the Moorish influences where I lived in Granada, Spain. My collection of frames are all prints of the Moulin Rouge in Paris, both in art and my own photographs. I have collected trinkets and books which decorate my surfaces. More than anything, I cherish the antiques that have been passed down to me, from my great-grandmother's dressing screen used as a headboard, to the army trunk my mother hand painted as my nightstand, to my beautiful vanity and recovered Victorian desk chair. Deep reds and earthy browns are truly representative of my passionate nature.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love that everything in the space has a story, from the beat-up old leather chair that my parents used while reading to me when I was a child, to the naked lady cross-stitch my mom embroidered for my Grandmotherâs bedroom, to the re-purposed tool box that my Grandfather had in his garage for years which is now serving as a bedside table for my husband. It all feels like home.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love that everything in my room has a story and a personal significance i.e., the dresser was a Craigslist find and took me a week to stain with a few too many trials and errors; the bedding is DIY and the two weeks of sewing helped me get through a particularly challenging time in my life; the chair was one of those serendipitous finds on the streets of San Francisco; the bed was made by a very talented friend from reclaimed wood and the painting is also a friend's artwork. I was also determined to have yellow curtains and couldn't find them in the right color or the right length. I ended up sewing them and LOVE them. They made such a huge difference in the overall look and feel of the room. All of these things combined make the room so much more than a bedroom. I love that it's personal, welcoming, bright, cozy and truly feels like a place to relax and unwind.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- The size of my bedroom is inherently cozyâit's a small space, but I've tried to make it feel bigger with fun, brightly colored curtains hung high and wide. I love that the window is now a focal point, and the curtain color sets the tone for the whole room.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love the green floor! Our bedroom is in the attic of a small bungalow-style home and one of our first projects when we moved in was ripping out the dark brown carpet. Underneath was a very low-quality wooden floor, so we had no reservations painting it. Most of the walls in our house are off-the-shelf âultra pure white,â so the green is a refreshing sea of color.
