- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love all of the light (barely any in Portland) that comes in through my windows. From my bed I look onto my neighbors mossy roof, and I can see the stars and the sunrise too. I moved here from New York, so things like bedroom windows, a walk-in closet, and my own bathroom were kind of unheard of. I made a light fixture out of twin light bulb adapters, and use about 20 low-wattage Edison bulbs with a dimmer to create a dynamic environment. This house is over 100 years old and has strong bones.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- My bedroom is the center of my home and lifestyle. It's where I first start my day and retreat for rest at the end of the day. It's where I snuggle with my kitten, dream, read, journal, watch late night movies and so much more. I love that it's full of subtle reminders that recharge and recenter.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- Our son Henry Fleetwood's bedroom is what we call the Fleet''woods" in the house. We placed Norfolk pines around the tepee to create a fun, imaginary forest for him to camp out in. His room faces south, so it is flooded with natural light all day long, but dark enough when the curtains are drawn for a cozy nap under the light of his moon.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- The first thing I see when waking up is a wall full of my favorite art and my beautiful boyfriend. I also love the subdued color palette and the warm soft lighting. Dimmers on everything!

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love the natural light and old original 1950's hardwood floors. This home is the home I grew up in. When my parents moved away and I moved away they never sold it. I love that I can come back and make it special on my own but still have all the wonderful childhood memories and even some of the same neighbors!

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- After my great escape from a dark and dreary basement apartment, I love how bright and cozy my bedroom is now. My apartment has high ceilings and huge windows that let in tons of natural light. It's such a pleasant room to come home to after a long day.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love everything about our bedroom. The bed and nightstands were made by my boyfriend. The L shape of the room makes it possible to have one side clean, even if the dirty laundry has taken over the closet. There is great light, so my plants have a home inside during the winter. Most of my personal photographs and meaningful items are in the bedroom, which always makes me smile.

- My bedroom is a collection of objects and pieces that my partner and I have found, repurposed or made ourselves. I love our bedroom because there is a certain feeling, reason and memory attached to each item in it.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- Even though we live in the city, and our fourth floor bedroom windows overlook the street, somehow our bedroom is very peaceful and quiet. From a design standpoint, it is a simple canvas - with neutral colors similar to the walls in the adjoining master bath; this canvas brings the two spaces together creating a sense of unity between the rooms. Year-round full afternoon sunlight creating shadows through the beautiful windows are a favorite aspect of our bedroom for sure. The fireplace adds a dramatic effect, and provides a perfect sleeping alcove for our dog! Last, amidst the walnut mid-century inspired furniture, we use comfortable, warm and soft bedding in warm greys which grounds the room and makes the bed the focal point.

- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love that our bedroom is downstairs. It is cozy and we call it the nest. The layering of textures and objects is easily rearranged and I love the muted palette that is so texturally based except for the color splurge on the wallpaper. The lighting was something that I was going to rewire for outside but we needed some lights that wouldn't take up key nightstand real estate. I fixed one to have a muted screen instead of the 1970s avocado green and it works. His and her lamps!
