All-white sometimes gets a bad rap as being stark and harsh, but these rooms are anything but. Here, popsicles are not just tolerated, they're encouraged.  These are the easy, warm whites of summer.  

Some of you may know Gretchen Jones as the winner of season 8 of Project Runway, but I discovered her because her lovely, layered Brooklyn apartment caught my eye. She's turned her small space into an oasis in the city, a relaxing place that reminds her of her roots and reflects her bohemian style.

I'm pretty enchanted by Katwijk aan Zee's little cottage on the beach in the Netherlands. When I was growing up in California, we often camped at the beach. Usually it was a small hike to the shore, but once we actually stayed on the sand, and it was fantastic...

I came across this sweet wrapping tutorial from Studio DIY, and I cannot wait to recreate it. It's the perfect wrapping idea for all of those summer bridal showers and birthday parties. You can clip a few flowers from your garden, or use it as an excuse to buy a pretty bouquet from the farmer's market.

How else would you expect steampunk acrobats to travel around? The Wheel House is a 25-minute performance produced by Europe's Acrojou Circus Theatre, where the pair tumble and turn over each other while tea kettles and clocks clatter as they propel the wheel around.

You know how going on holiday is relaxing and refreshing, but sometimes also opens up a whole new can of worms? Since visiting Puglia in southern Italy with my sister earlier this month, I have a new compulsion, and it involves obsessively researching every masseria in existence, and planning a fantasy/someday trip that somehow hits them all. As you can imagine, this takes up much of my time (and quite a chunk of my future earnings, I'd reckon).

The rose bush in my backyard is blooming like crazy right now, and I've been bringing one or two flowers into the house at a time. In design, roses easily can go granny, but they also can be fun, graphic, sweet, and in some cases wonderfully fragrant.

Here at Apartment Therapy, we talk a lot about small spaces, but we don't often get a chance to look at design for a group of people who often find themselves living in smaller spaces — senior citizens. That's why we're so excited to share this Before and After with you.
