What do you like best about your workspace?
I really enjoy the custom hairpin leg desk I built recently. There is much more space for paperwork and other projects than available on my previous desk. I also enjoy the large amount of natural lighting brought in by the nearly ceiling to floor sliding glass window, complimented by the white walls. The vast amount of files and paper is stored away in cabinets and shelves. More

Here's a unique juxtaposition of yesterday's decor with today's tech. The home office hails from Alexandria, Virginia, where Alex of DIY blog, Old Town Home, built his own DIY home office project with storage and organization in mind. The result is a snug and stylish workspace combining 1800's detailing with 21st century features, some hidden, other's obvious at the flip of a switch... More

Name: Kathleen Rossi
Location: Southern Oregon

Designer Kathleen Rossi recently set out to embark on starting her own design company. But she has nothing but the fondest memories of working for her previous employer, partially because it was while working at the stationery and lifestyles product design studio she was able to turn a dream concept into a tangible reality: an ornate, laser cut desk made from a vintage find into a unique showstopper of a desk! 120811_rg_NicolSetup_01.jpgIt's true that a lot of people are now using their laptops exclusively as their main computers. It makes sense, since they are easily portable and can have some interesting options. What is also quite common is that they also need some kind of desktop at home. It makes things a lot more convenient, especially when you don't have to spend too much money on this. Here's one easy setup that we found. More

120111_rg_JaredSchmidUpdate_01.jpgWe featured Jared's setup about a year ago here at Unplggd, and we liked how he organized the lighting of his desk. Instead of using LED strips, he actually used some spots to light up his frosted glass desk. It gave off a nice diffuse glow, which is something we yearn for when we spend hours typing away at our workstations. More

Using a glass desk can be fraught with challenges, especially when you want to keep your work surface clutter-free. Since this desk didn't come with a keyboard tray, Terry came up with an interesting solution to store his keyboard, mouse, and Trackpad. All in all, the result leaves a lot of free desk real estate, negating the use of another desk to do paperwork and reducing the overall footprint of this workstation. More

Unlike other developer's desks we've shared before with dual or even triple monitors, web developer Christopher Fung likes to keep his desk pretty clean cut when it comes to tech and indulges in the toys and playful colors instead. Not your typical developer desk, we enjoyed the whimsical vibe Chris's style lends to his desk. More

Location: Moers, Germany

Self described "geek & blogger" Dennis Klein wears his Otaku interests well, creating a home office for both him and his wife to work from, all the while exhibiting a playfulness throughout using decorative elements (a few a tad naughty), with plenty of IKEA. The results, although quite affordable decoratively, is stocked with a serious amount of tech and ample storage both physically and digitally speaking... More

Minimal workstations are something that most people yearn for. Ken's workspace is quite fetching, since it's got everything you need to design things and create stuff. We like the overall low profile, but it doesn't skimp on the tech, which is important when you do a lot of work from home. More
