How many of us have to leave a beloved cat or dog at home while we're toiling away at work? The Petcube was designed to give pet owners a virtual connection from our beloved furred ones from afar, a pet monitoring device designed to connect to a home Wi-Fi network and allow pet owners to call out to their tailed companion, control a laser for remote entertainment, and even take and share photos of a pet to share with others while away from home...

By now most people have at least heard of Vine, the app which lets users capture 6-second looping videos to share. Like most new apps, it has taken awhile for users to build and roll out tools for browsing content and creatively expanding its use. Here are some sites and tips to help new and seasoned Vine users get more out of what has become one of my favorite apps...
MoreWhat looks good in a showroom or catalog doesn't always live up to expectations once you've put the Allen wrench down. So you might want to fire up the iPhone, Android phone, or iPad before even setting foot inside a store, and try using an augmented reality app to "try on" furniture before buying...
Whether home owners really want or need apps connecting their fridge to the internet is still yet to be seen. But there's no need to purchase a whole new fridge to tap into online services and apps designed to better manage the biggest plugged-in device in your home and its contents...

If I had my way, I'd prefer we'd all keep phone ringers either on low or off with just vibration notification while out in public. But then again, in doing so, there's always the risk of missing an important call when the phone is stowed away in a pocket, bag, or purse. These mod style bracelets solve the conundrum of staying notified without interrupting by offering caller notification via vibration. The bracelet also displays caller ID when someone rings in and notifies you if your phone has left your perimeter by more than 2 meters, helpful for those chronically misplacing their device or while traveling. One of the most common tasks in photo editing is cropping and clipping out images from backgrounds. Executed correctly, it's not a difficult process, but it is one that requires a deft hand with the Photoshop pen tool, the use of alpha channels, and a discerning eye for what to keep and what to leave out. Now there's a website which simplifies the process...
The Poler Camera Cooler Bag

Who doesn't love a 2-for-1 special? Designed with dual purpose in mind, the Poler camera bag is first and foremost padded for safely toting around a DSLR, lens, with extra room for an smartphone and tablet. But the insulated carrying case can also work as a lunch bag (though they warn, not at the same time with your photo gear). A very handsome and handy little number for work and your lunch break, and a lot more affordable than my aspirational recommendation, which likely inspired this design.
Categorize this video as "pretty darn cute". Tech blogger, Chris Angelini, was readying a Tom's Hardware post about his thoughts about Google Glass when his inquisitive 2-year-old son wanted to know what all the hubbub was all about (alongside a request for some juice). Father equips son with Google's life's moment capturing device, giving us a short glimpse of what it's like to be 2 years old all over again...
With all the talk about mobile devices beginning to eclipse computers, there’s still not as much talk of creating for the sake of creation on mobile devices. We take photos and videos, and even tweak them with apps like Instagram, but how much creativity are we really talking about here? The application of a hazy filter? More
My dad was a lifelong smoker who was never able to kick the nicotine habit, and I remember many arguments between my parents revolved around the topics of smoke and the smell it would bring into the home. If only dear old dad was alive now, I would likely gift him one of these smokeless vaporizers, a pocket-sized device designed to heat up any leaves just hot enough to extract the kick, but without producing offensive smoke. Ploom's design is a 21st century pipe, complete with LED temperature indicator, motion-based temperature control, and keen pop-out mouthpiece design. I would have rather my father stopped smoked completely, but if one has the habit, this beats the old box of Marlboros any day.
