We've no sooner put together our list of favorite American furniture makers and now we're already seeing folks to add to next year's list. Like Edwin Blue, for instance. The craftspeople at Edwin Blue create modern heirloom-quality furniture in a century-old stable in Kansas City.
Furnish Me Vintage is tucked out of sight on the second floor of an antique mall in St. Petersburg, Florida. What it lacks in curb presence is made up for in a well-curated selection; this place is a mid century enthusiast's dream. The large space (7,000 square feet) is filled with vintage finds, from all the big names like George Nelson, Paul McCobb, and Jens Risom.
We're fans of Gail, of My Repurposed Life, whose clever projects are beautiful and inspired. We loved her custom bench, made from a curbside dresser, and the toddler bed she made from an old door. Now's she got a cute corner bench and table set that she concocted from an old bed's headboard and footboard.
Of the many Before and Afters we have featured, this one may take the prize for the biggest blindside, meaning when you click through, you will in no way have figured out what was coming and the 'After' photo just may knock you flat. While you can sometimes predict how a thrift store dresser or end table will be saved and transformed, just try it with this box spring. You'll be wrong. Trust us. Just go look.
Pink can be polarizing. But beyond bubblegum, there's a whole range of hues that can be subtle or bold. From nearly neutral to in your face fuchsia, these rooms feature furniture in chic shades of pink. Get inspired, and then get the look!
If you love the look of converted factory lofts or old farmhouses, you can add some Warm Industrial style to your space with one of these dining tables. This type of table is often made of salvaged wood and aged iron, so you can put away the placemats because scratches and stains just make them look better.
What do Madonna, Beyonce, Courtney Cox and Christina Ricci have in common? They all own pieces by artist Patrick McCarthy and his furniture designing daughter, Dante. Together, they are known as Cloud Noir.

Art and design students often create some of the most inventive product designs around. The only problem is that it can be difficult for those students to get their products into the hands of consumers. New e-commerce site Vespoe is solving that problem.
