Time and time again we've seen doors overlooked in design projects. The worst thing to find in a beautifully finished room is the builder's original slab door. More

Q: We've just updated our mid-century apartment (removed popcorn ceilings and replaced the 1959 ubiquitous apartment parquet with 5-inch teak), and now would like to replace all the cheap interior doors with a heavier, more modern style door. The picture is of the door style that we are looking for, but would like some direction on where to find them. We might need custom, as our doors are floor to ceiling, without an area of wall above them (if that makes sense!). This seems like such a simple problem, yet I can't find a good resource. Thanks for any help offered!

Q: My bathroom is very narrow. I want to replace the existing hinged door and instead install one of the new blue glass PAX wardrobe doors. The glass door will be about 6" taller then the door opening (I'll have to remove the molding etc.. first) and should slide easily along the wall to cover the door opening. Does anyone have any experience using an IKEA sliding door this way? Is this going to make me crazy as I try to implement it or is it really do-able? More

The Ping Pong Door was a big hit on Ohdeedoh, but we wanted to make certain that all the New Yorkers saw this one too! I've longed for the room for a proper table tennis venue in my apartment — and while this particular design by Tobias Franzel still wont' fit into my own space, it is a step in the right direction... The color isn't the one we'd choose for our own home, but this concept is so cool. High ceilings like the ones in this loft leave normal-height doors looking rather, well, normal. So what about playing them up with some ceiling-height drapery?... More

I love to take pictures of doors as they are like taking pictures of the face of a building. Weathered, worn, colorful and practical, they are designs that have stories to tell and which reveal the distinctive color palette of the city. Here are a few pics — mainly of doors, but also including doorbells, colorful walls, the stone street and a remarkable shutter. More

We recently visited a friend's apartment that's on the market. They've staged the home beautifully and every last detail has been thoughtfully addressed to show the apartment in its best light at open houses. But on the way out, we noticed one small place they forgot to bring up to snuff, and we realized it could leave potential buyers and other visitors with a less-than-perfect impression of their nearly-perfect home... 3-9-1-Panel-Door.jpg

Hi, I just got done remodeling my closet and went through a whole back-and-forth about whether to use bi-fold doors, sliding doors, regular doors, etc. Now, I've decided that I’m going to replace all of the old, cheap, repainted and cracking interior doors in our apartment that just cannot be salvaged any longer. I’ve been looking for single panel doors for a long time! And I'm having a hard time finding them anywhere or finding places that sell doors. My question is inspired by the recently posted Jackson Heights Two Bedroom FSBO where the owner has single panel doors that are just what I’m looking for! Where I can find them? I’m in Brooklyn, NYC. Thanks, Jessica
