Having never attended a Korean 1st birthday (Dol), I was shocked to find out how many people would be invited to this celebration. I would compare the guest list to that of a wedding instead of just a few close friends and family, as most Americans would celebrate. With the amount of people that were to attend, we had to be a little creative and stretch every dollar so we wouldn't bust our budget.

Woodland was my inspiration for my son's room. I wanted it to be fun, versatile and non-traditional.

One of my favorite things about the warmer weather in Southern California is being able to enjoy movies outdoors. Fortunately in LA, there are a lot of outdoor screenings in public parks, museums, and unusual settings like Hollywood Forever Cemetery. But if you're more about entertaining at home, and have the space, there are a plentitude of options for creating an outdoor movie screening setup...

Q: I just moved into a new apartment with AWFUL brown carpet. I prefer clean neutrals. I have purchased a white leather sofa, and I'm trying to stick with whites, creams, gold, silver, gray, espresso and black.

Also, the ceilings are curved, so there's no break in the wall for painting. Right now they are flat stark white. I love the french windows, and the space seems very airy, so I want to keep it nice and bright, but also don't want it to look too clinical. Those horrible vertical blinds are already on the way down!:

Q: I am looking to find a new or old caged ceiling fan similar to the one in the picture. I have seen them in use but cannot find one either online or at any antique stores, etc... can you help?
