Ever since my daughter was introduced to Lalaloopsies in December of last year, she has been hooked! I love the look of the environments in which the characters live; it really lends itself to having a handmade look. I didn’t realize just how deep I would get into hand making everything. I went a little Lala handmade crazy.

For our son's "Big Boy" room, we wanted an eclectic mix of old and new. We scoured our local antique shops for stuff that screamed "All Boy!" to us. 

Q: I live in a basement apartment in DC with brick floors- it seems like at one point they were sealed, but there is definite wear and the bricks are largely exposed these days. I'm not sure how to go about keeping the floors clean- do I have to live with perpetually dusty feet?

Q: Hi there. A few years back I got lots of feedback from Apartment Therapy readers in doing a quick and dirty facelift on my kitchen: It's been 2.5 years and while the facelift has held up pretty well, I'm itching to make some more low-cost changes. After painting, I never loved the green (Sherwin Williams Willow Tree) or the upper cabinet color (SW Westhighland White) that I chose, and I think part of the problem is the lighting (or lack thereof) in my kitchen:

Industrial cool doesn't need to be confined to just grown up spaces. Look at how wonderfully these wire baskets work in Silas' Poised for Adventure Room. If your baby or kids space is a little too fluffy and soft, why not consider adding some wire baskets to your bookshelf, or like Lindsay, to the wall?
