A few days ago I posted about my slight obsession with segregating art by theme in each room of the house. Here's more on that score, this time specifically with kids in mind. Would any of these work in your home? More
I don't know if you're anything like me, but when I was a kid I had glow in the dark plastic stars scattered across my ceiling so I could look up at them at night. There is something that is both soothing and overwhelming about staring up at the stars at night that being an adult (especially one that lives in the city) can make you tend to forget. Here are a few ways to bring that feeling home, minus the cheesy-but-awesome plastic stars. More
Miki is a creative problem solver. Her son was winding up in her bed every night so to entice him to stay in his own, she made him a bed tent. Not only was her son, Uri, thrilled with it, she cleverly devised a super simple way to put it up and take it down - using a single table leg.

While seriousness has its place in decorating and design, I enjoy and appreciate a a bit of trompe l'œil surrealism as well. Faux concrete walls and take out inspired porcelain dishes are just the types of things that catches my eye. More

Lim C Table Lamp by Pablo Pardo for Pablo
• $250.00
• Design Within Reach
Since converting our dining table into a secondary desk I've been on the hunt for a task lamp with two features in mind: LED lighting for warm-white illumination and a minimal visual presence. There's a bevy of task and table lamps available, but Pablo Pardo's design is the first I've happened upon which seems to be capable of being "there" when turned off, while disappearing into the background while turned off. Rated for 50,000 hours of use and 85% more efficient than incandescent lamps, the Lim C is also available as a floor and variable height version, but I've got my eyes set on this ultra-slim magnetic mount model.
