Times have changed for family games. With iPads, iPods, and smartphones abound, the old family card and boardgame standbys like Monopoly and Uno face some serious competition. Is there no middle ground between great family living room classics and Farmville? More

A couple years back, my partner and I gave into our infommercial temptations and purchased the Insanity workout program DVD. That @$ is for reals and in just a few weeks later, both of Emily and I were a lot more fit than before thanks to the workout's mix of muscle confusion and interval training. The Nike+ Kinect Training for Xbox 360 shares a very similar in look, feel, and workout routine (and in-game trainer Alex Molden sounds almost identical to Insanity's Shaun T)... More

The internet is abuzz amongst Nintendo-lovers out there with the announcement of a Canada-only release of the Wii mini, a $99.99 downsized edition of the popular last-generation console. This Wii edition is now the size of a personal pan pizza box, ditches GameCube compatibility, and isn't internet access capable like the original version. But it's now much smaller and ships with a red Wii Remote Plus, Wii Remote Jacket, Nunchuk and Sensor Bar, making it a tempting secondary gaming console for the kids. Love it? Hope you've got some close Canadian friends who'll ship you the console when it arrives in limited quantities on December 7th (at least for the foreseeable future, since there's no word about an American release for now)

The IKEA MALM is amongst the most popular of the Swedish retailer's line of home furnishings, ubiquitous for the series' simple lines and wallet-friendly price. In other words, perfect for anyone with a little ingenuity, wood-working tools, and plans for a DIY transformation. Can you guess what this common IKEA chest of drawers was converted into? More
Halloween is long over, but you'll still see pumpkins and gourds displayed on porches and stoops as long as the fall season sticks around. We only wish the neighbors' pumpkin decor was as geek-cool as this one featuring 128 LED lights and a fully functioning game of Tetris that's controlled by a joystick stem. More
If that sum sounds absolutely insane to you, you're not alone — we're betting most people would agree. But ColorWare seems to be doing quite well for themselves and continues to offer a line of custom-colored Apple products for the person looking to standout from the crowd of "black" or "white"... An old neglected tablet PC, $16 worth of Home Depot melamine shelving, and an arcade joystick all came together to become one impressive mini-tabletop gaming machine... More
